Frequently Asked Questions

How long from initial consultation to draft plans being presented ?
Normally within two weeks.

How long from placing order to installation date?
We usually need a minimum of 8 weeks. It’s obviously better to give as much notice as possible so we can ensure we can meet your delivery schedules.

How long does it take to install?
Installation will depend on size but will normally take two to three weeks.

What safeguards do we have regarding our deposits?
We only ask of a nominal £500.00 to start. This is not refundable and goes towards the design costs should you decide to cancel.

We don’t ask for any more money until we arrive with the actual units. At this point we ask for a further 50% to go towards the manufacturing costs.

The final 50% is then due on completion so you can rest assured that your money will be safe.

For full details see Terms of Trading

What ranges do you offer?

All our kitchens are bespoke so we don’t offer a specific range. We can, within reason, produce what you want in solid wood or painted finishes.

What are the kitchens made of?

We offer three basic options:

a) 22mm and 30mm doors and frames in high density fibreboard (HDF) with melamine faced mdf carcasses with a painted finish
b) 22mm and 30mm doors and frames in Tulip wood with Birch ply carcasses with a painted finish
c) 22mm and 30mm doors and frames, with Birch ply carcasses, in solid Oak, Maple, Walnut, Ash and Cherry.

All drawers are made in solid Maple or similar with dovetail joints on Blum soft close runners.

What paint finishes are available?

Hand painted on site or factory sprayed in the colour of your choice.

The hand painted finish suits the older property with a more traditional style whereas the sprayed finish is better suited to the contemporary kitchen.

What worktops are available?

Worktops are available in Granite, Corian, Composite, Wood, Laminate, Stainless Steel or Glass.

Do you offer a choice of appliances and equipment?

We can offer a wide and varied range of appliances and equipment and will be pleased to quote for you specific requirements or utilise your existing equipment.

How much does a Robson Ward kitchen cost?

The total cost for a medium sized kitchen including the units, worktops, appliances, basic installation and VAT is likely to fall between £20,000 and £35,000.

Larger kitchens may cost more but a larger room does not necessarily mean the kitchen will cost more since part of the space will normally be used for dining and living space.
